Steve has over thirty years of experience in implementing business solutions for
growth and change. He has managed consultants in one of the "Big 6" accounting firms,
has run a large MIS department for a computer manufacturer, and has served as Financial
Vice President for a variety of applied technology start-ups. He has experience in a wide
range of industries, including banking, manufacturing, healthcare, biotechnology, education,
construction, utilities and retailing. In all of these contexts he has focused on financial
and operational information systems, project management, data processing, financial modeling
and profit improvement. Steve has current experience and skills in personal computers, networking,
and communications.
Within D. Lawton Associates, Steve is most likely to be performing systems and data analysis,
database programming, and systems planning. Over the past ten years he has specialized in the
design and installation of business applications using Paradox, Delphi, or Java as a client front-end
to Interbase, Microsoft SQL, and Oracle servers. Major recent projects include adding a web-based
budgeting module to the SAP accounting system, adding an order entry and contact management front-end
to the Solomon accounting system, and adding customized financial and operational reports to the Lawson
accounting system.
Steve holds a B.S. in Mathematics (with minors in economics and management) from Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute, as well an M.S. in Operations Research and Statistics. He is a Certified Public Accountant and
a Certified Fellow in the American Production and Inventory Control Society.
