A semi-custom application provides the best of both worlds ... meeting many of your business requirements at the low cost of an off-the-shelf solution while ensuring the close fit of a custom application in those areas where your unique requirements must be addressed. There are two ways to approach a semi-custom solution:

• An off-the-shelf application may be available with full source code, which can then be modifed by our development team to meet your unique requirements. The cost for this source code license is a small fraction of the actual development cost of the packaged solution, giving you a substantial head start on the custom development effort.



• The off-the-shelf application can be supplemented by a separate custom application which addresses your unique requirements. Frequently, both applications can share a common database, but there are also several other techniques for ensuring tight integration between the two applications.
